It gets even worse. When the family all get separated, and the MC finds his dad, drunk with some scantily clad women. First thing the dad does? Starts calling his 12 year old son worthless, because he didn't find his dad's wife or mistress, when he was trapped in the demon world. Then he makes the MC appear to be the badguy in front of the MC's infant sister.
This is entertainment to that old man. He could give two less shit about anything. The dude knows that his right hand is a piece of shit but still kept him as his right hand.
And if it wasn't there right hand then he himself did it? Less likely imo but still there is a chance. He is more of a observer like charecter.
