the only difference is the level of the world. when reading chinese novels, we are used to class it as 低武，高武 basically low level of strength and high level of strength before clasing it as a cultivation world修仙 or sword and magic fantasy西方魔幻 or other categories. heroes shooting lasers are from 低武, while stronger than martial artist from murim world, they are weaker than cultivation worlds that are often 高武. the real difference is the size of the world, in murim world (whole world=around china), hero society (often world=earth), murim world(custom world that can be very big), there are also other worlds that can be very big for example in 超神机械师 i believe its english name is "the legendary mechanic", the world is the whole space, big scales war can mobilize over thousands billions space warships from each side, big civilisations controlls billions planets and multiple galaxies, there are cultivators and other kind of supernatural powers that can shit on the cultivators. destroying planets and stars are basic standards for the high level people of that world (s,s+,ss usually called 超a i guess its super a or over a to call the people who few who got over class a, less than 1 thousand in that huge space), <spolier>mc is atm on his way to become 超s but even then he would only be in a level where he needs others to keep the strong civilisations in check to get his freedom, coz as you can guess thousand billions warships of the strongest civilisations +dozens 超a loyal to those civilisations are not a force to underestimate.
my understanding is that hero society are greatly limited in the size of the world and populations. if you live in a world with billions of billions of people, if a big vilain kill 1 million people (thats a lot) it wouldnt affect society that much, the need for a hero that shoots laer as well wouodnt be that important. in fact for such developped world, the science and weapons would also be super advanced (for example in the legendary mechanics weapons that can destroy plannets are basics). so for individual powers to matter, they would need to be immense as well.

Cultivation usually contend with the idea of attaining divinity (becoming a God/Celestial), superheroes are just mortals with powers.
It's not really fair to compare their powers because superheroes were never meant to be invincible or become Gods.

"Super" is just a small part of them, the "hero" is more important. Their noble goal and character is meant to inspire justice in others, a complete opposite to a cultivator whose goal is quite selfish in comparison.
Most cultivators are in fact inclined towards evil because they require many resources that are limited in stock, resulting in a world where the strong aggressively prey on the weak.

I once read a novel where the MC is reincarnated into different cultivation worlds to save them from destruction. After all she has been through she asks if any of these worlds were ever worth saving. Cultivation tempts people to do evil, the powerful immortals only care about getting stronger (enlightenment).
