She was not desperate after that failure of resurrection. It could have been easilyt avoided, even if he's "dead" they could search for the corpse and they could find out the madam's dead. It wasn't new territory. Not only did she ressurect her cousin, Seire said she has done this before and this was the first time she had this problem. These kind of "first time" mistakes are because something is wrong and as I said in my comment, At the minimum she could doubt it yet she didn't. There are very rare occasions where its because of outliers. And for the 3rd time, She's not desperate after she failed the first resurrection.
