We're slowly making progress! I can taste it. He didn't flat out refuse, he tried to spare her feelings as well. Previous queen must have been something else cos even if it's only 1 panel I get chills from that woman.

You mean when she told the lady "you attack the relationship between him and me. Don't you think he deserves to be angry?" ?

If she believes that's why he did all of this, then why did she ask him if it was for her sake? She should know that it was for his sake.
I thought she was simply saying it to put the lady in place. But he never did explicitly said that was the reason why he did it. And in this chapter he simply answered "no" when asked if it was for her sake. Which, to me, doesn't answer the "why".

Unless we the reader is suppose to deduce that, oh because he didn't do it for her sake, then it must be for his sake, then it must mean...and so on. Which is a lot of assumptions that I personally don't like.

And, like you said, if he did this not only for her, but for himself, then he should've answered "not only that". Or something to insinuate that it's not only for her sake. Instead, he simply answered "no". He didn't do it for her.

Eventually, we just have different views on this take.
