    So you can see the root meaning or google it yourself.
    *seems like the new guy just some guys using chinese to english translator...
    **lots of guys messing the japanese kanji into chinese one nowadays or even korean(I got oppa from the big brother translation... or some other stuff)

      Moreover, Machine translation is rather good, in few cases it more comprehensible than shitty tanslation (this one's okay)
      
      Edit - any idea which one they mistook for demonic energy
      If i had to choose by elimination then magic power - i'know it doesn't make much sense, also i don't know a speck of japanese
      My reasoning - As inner energy is vitality, spirit(holy power) shouldn't be translated as demonic power. So only one left is magic power

        Yes you should be right.
        As we derived the kanji 魔 is used for demonic stuff in translation.
        魔物、魔神、魔族。
        Monster, demon god, demon race.
        So it should be the magic that they translate into demonic energy.

        If we use Naruto translator it should be
        Vitality=taijutsu that drain your stamina and life force like guy.
        Magic= chakra that used for elements or supernatural phenomenon.
        Spirit= sage energy that derived from natures.

        As in most folklore, magic, witch ,evil go in hand in hand
        It would be least to say Interesting if God, deities are associated with miracle, divine power. And demon, devil with magical and mystical things. (As per kanji)

        if the Japanese kanji is the same as the Chinese hanzi, magic is 魔法, or literally demonic powers, so Demonic energy or 魔力 seems like a close proxy to magic energy aka mana

        Eh mana would be magic though, the "closest" is divine energy... however demonic being the polar opposite, given that they are already using inner energy which IMO is vitality from previous translations, spirit = divine = demonic...
        
        Wish when a new TL group picked up they'd at least include notes as to the change and why that decision was made to alleviate this kind of confusion...

        maybe I remember wrong, from the novel there is no such thing as demonic energy but here Rent also uses his race's trait (something like vampire?)... sorry if it makes it even more confusing.

  My best guess is he tried to give a false explanation about how he got wings since he can't reveal that he is a undead and a vampire at that. So instead of revealing his real nature, he lied about demonic energy maybe it's close to dark energy? Since his opponent only muscle no brain. It's just a guess

  I vaguely recall that in Japanese "demon king" or "Maou" (魔王) can also mean "sorcerer king". if that's the case then this "demonic power" they speak of could just be an alternative translation for "magic power"

  I'll explain it... maybe some spoilers will be mixed in...
  This village has some secrets. All important person in the village knows this secret and they have their respective roles, such as village head, chief guard etc...
  Actually these important people felt that this secret would stop in their generation without being passed on, but after seeing Rent... they wanted to pass it on to him, ofc after testing him.

The translation is a mess... I know, that the words for "Magic" and "Evil" are similar in Kanji (Japanese word-writing - unlike the letter-writing, one sign shows an entire word), but if you cannot keep it consistent it makes only harder to understand what is happening.

Rentt used his "Vitality/Ki/Inner Energy" and "Magic/Demonic Energy" at the same time to counterattack. There is also the "Spirit/Holy Energy", but it wasn't used for his attacks this time...

Do not forget, that "Magic" in the middle ages was considered as something, what came from the Devil, the works of God was called "Miracles". It's a similar thing to that - the holy powers only harm evil creatures, it heals good ones and for someone neutral the effects are balanced, like what it happened to the logs, what were shaved by his spirit-induced sword strikes, but then began to grow new sprouts.

The mage then justified the killing because she didn't have to work more (reading guild laws to find the loophole + filing the paperwork, combating against MC in legal battles...), intrapersonal relations would worsen going against a person like team leader, and thinking its regular interest (not compound). Its a personality that comes with wisdom called efficiency.
