    First off we dont know the regressors plans, this could just be the easiest way for world domination or more accuritly this could just be his way of getting close to the mc .
    Second off this is mostly a normal occerance for the mc since the towers have been around for her entire life and massacures would be fairly uncomon so there would be no way for her to know that this time would be different.
    And lastly she doesnt owe anyone just for being strong (but i not really qualified to talk about ethics and morality)
    Tldr: dont trust people off of first impressions.
