From my experience with romcoms, love triangle isn't necessarily a bad thing. Ok look look, I'm a triangle hater myself, but I believe that it'd be beneficial if it is implemented correctly. A triangle exists solely to break stalemate, or in a romcom terms, a point where both protagonists are too close for being friends, but too awkward to advance. Therefore, a triangle would be best added in either mid or late chapters, and NOT EARLY chapters. Not only that, but the author also need to make it so that there is a clear winner (original FMC), and no major misunderstandings.
Basically what I'm saying is that if the author decides to add a triangle in this chapter, I wouldn't say I love it, but if implemented well enough, I wouldn't hate it either.
