the 12 Immortals of Kunlun is a classic 'myth' of sorts in China, Kunlun is both a mythical mountain range and an actually mountain range. The Golden Tortoise island could be similar or it could be one of the invented factions in this novel, I don't remember if there also is a myth of that sort but generally murim stories take from old myths and classic murim stories (like from the 60's classic) to create their own but coherent story of "murim/Jiangho/Kangho".

Damn this was a real good chapter. The eternal debate between freedom and safety, which is right... that is ultimately up to the individual and it truly depends on the situation you find yourself in.

The only mistake the 'freedom' rats made was, they did not actually desire freedom even if that was the core tenet of their ideology and push for revolution, but what they wanted to do was to try and usurp the Naga labyrinth, this would have likely doomed their entire race, even the rats who did not wish to betray the Nagas.

If they actually desired freedom I believe they could have asked MC to let them go, let them be free and he would have granted them their wish, but because Morth got megalomania he was unable or unwilling to actually become free, he did not desire to become the bottom of the food chain again which is what freedom would have ultimately cost them.

He'll be pathetic if he chooses a harem after what happened to his mother... I don't care how 'perfect' his harem would be, one of his descendents will end up in the same shit situation someday. And frankly I just dislike harems because you could often just replace the women with blowup dolls and there would be no significant change in the story.
