The MC of now has the look of someone who has seen the uncontrolled and passionate malevolent nature of humanity, the one on the right looks just to be your average male-harem-isekai-schoolromcom-whatever protagonist. I bet that BL-loving girl would've liked this MC more and consider this version of him better, and I unironically agree to that.

The earlier Youta was far more likeable, clear-headed but not free from ignorance and actually funny than the one he grow into this day. Nevertheless, it was because of said opinion that I found the manga to be quite enjoyable from its comedy aspect, being completely oblivious to the dark twist also helps with that. However, after having discovered the shocking revelation about the grim nature of this world he's living in now, of course he had to change. From that on his character started to change subtly as the story progresses, the rating of the story sometimes sank a bit throughout the travelling arcs but still held its enjoyability until we go to somewhere around chapter 150 where the MC's character get a drastic turn. Then it began from there that Youta is stagnating as a human being, but not enough to be considered as underdeveloping being a character from the reader's viewpoint, because this clearly is something that could be considered as a 'character arc' where the character itself is undergoing through conflicting events that changes their nature afterwards. But even that felt empty. It feels like he never got any character development from the day he went through the many traumatic arcs he had so far, or rather, his character regressed into nothing less than some one (or two) dimensional headed bitch boy who couldn't be bothered to think with his brain than his lower (dick) brain.

Now, I'm not blaming a fictional character for this nonsense because that would be irrational and stupid—and I'm already that— but this manga clearly doesn't promote those. What we should be pointing our fingers at is towards the author himself, he's been shitting garbage these whole years and we're still eating that crap.

For countless days I've held on to the hope that this manga will deliver, but now that hope is shattered, its shard remains bleeding my brain cells out of my head.
