I think I read somewhere that it's because some of the japanese readers lose interest when non-japanese competitors play, hence the double whammy now. Also Someone who's Japanese will feel more comfortable writing Japanese Gods as compared to other cultures.

Inherited will? So Deku inherited All Might's will, and now Bakugo is also an "will carrier" of OFA if just in spirit. It ties well into both their respective adoration of All Might, but is a bit heavy handed, Bakugo is more than his love of all might. Deku's only trait is All Might so it makes sense for his character. I thought he'd grow into his own person after being talked to by All might after the midnight duel with Deku, that he'd let go of his guilt and become a new symbol. Perhaps this might mean Bakugo dies for real, as unlikely as that sounds, because Horikoshi, but we know Deku can't die because this story is just all a flashback from when he became the world's greatest hero.
