I believe it had to do with monster appearances being mistranslated into Japanese In early DND books. Something to with how they described the nose. The same thing happened with kobolds that ended up more canine like then lizard. From there it filtered into early fantasy videogames and just ended up as a cultural thing. In early DND both races were very much not very sentient and not much more then monsters.

Yep so much for the princess's crush causing a rivalry. Really wasn't expecting that to be squashed right at the last second. Her time as her maid and knowing the kind of person she is and that emotional connection really means she can sway the princess without even trying just by being genuine.

It's his weight. Everyone else is so fit and they use alot of detail to represent that but his weight just gives him a plain roundish look without any detail

I wouldn't really put any stock in him being a time traveler since he never developed in his last life and died at just 27 before regressing to 17. And he has only recently developed a lot of his abilities and not really trained them since the awakening just happened. Admittedly the author could of handled it differently but probably just went with the easiest or most relatable option. That and he was distracted by the corpses words.
