There are so many mysteries yet to be solved. The plot is still in line with the genre and the previous main storyline. The fact that MC got sick is kinda a shock, but it could be a good turn around if he isn't actually sick but simply going into a phase. I don't think the author is gonna ruin this, but I won't be surprised if he is going to do a stupid idea "killing MC is a good plot twist" while the storyline isn't even reaching the end part.

It's actually the invasion of an unknown stuff that infect his cells which behave like cancer and his nanobots can't do anything about it. The stuff was actually injected by the unknown female who previously kidnapped him and knew his background. My speculation is that this "cancer" will mutate him and stopped him from being a human. There is a chance he died or evolved instead.

The only real solutions for this bug are natural predator and unsupportive climate for their breeding. There are also a lot of them in Southeast Asia, but we have gecko's small "cousin" called "cicak" infested everywhere instead.
