I would disagree with you, here. When you make a plan with someone you'd have to give heads up at least if there's any deviation from it. It doesn't have to ask for whether its ok to bring someone else, but at least tell that "oh so and so are also coming", so that the other person can decide whether it's something they are comfortable or not.
