It starts off well enough, but the old man’s flashbacks end up being the highlights of the story. The writing for the present day plot drops in quality pretty quickly and becomes impossible to understand what is going on or why, coupled with fight scenes that last a dozen chapters and end without anyone dying.
The characters in the story were saying “What is he talking about?” and “What is going on?” more often than I was. The author started narrating what was going on with extra text, rather than just properly showing what was going on. He later inserted this omniscient being with the sole purpose of explicitly explaining the story through a character’s mouth. 
Barely worth the read, skip anything that isn’t backstory. 

The flashbacks tend to be more interesting than the current timeline. 

After a couple dozen chapters of constant fighting that barely makes sense, is a named character finally going to die?

Can they stop fighting for 5 seconds so they can advance the story??

All these childless women wanting to “focus on work,” this is why Japan has a dwindling population !!
