If you have a plan, D will make sure it never comes to fruition. Hero? Villain? He couldn't care less!

As he said. He knows someone will do it anyway. So he's telling the gods how to stop the one who will try to do it.

If only there was a great man back then in real life. But there was not. And in the absence of a great man, the vilest men rose.

Any similarities with modern day movements are NOT coincidence. The French Revolution is where it all began. And you should never forget that. The root of all modern evils, the ideals of the revolutionaries, built by hatred and resentment, not truth or love.

Everyone is likely going to die here. It's literally the French Revolution. Even after the execution of the king the murders didn't stop, and when there was no opponent to kill, the revolutionaries turned against each other like the monsters they were.

Historically the king did concede, plenty. And it led to him getting executed. Whenever he deployed guards, he ordered to keep violence to a minimum, which made the guards start to despise him as they grew demoralized over their own getting killed by the mob.

Fascinating how it portrays modern ideologies (Mind you, they emerged back then) so accurately.

Feminism is exactly like that even nowadays. No healthy ideology is born out of hatred.

Ugh. Just as repulsive as the modern ones. At least this manga doesn't sugarcoat it.

That was a close call. I am certain the king was legit angry. But he decided not to take revenge because he knew Gideon was not evil, just destitute as fuck.

I assume neither lied. It was his paranoia. Worth mentioning. The king was paranoid, and there IS no historical evidence of infidelity. Fersen was pretty much irrelevant and the claims of infidelity were made by the gossip journalists of back then.

Well. Yes. He had anger issues. But with that additional context, yeah. At least the original Akabane was extremely reasonable in his actions. The clones were unstable, but he was justified in his murder and any sensible judge would have given him a lenient sentence.

And he just lets them because he knows they're not on his level.

Of course not all of them. But I'm speaking of them as an organization. That's exactly what the plot is focused on. Individual heroes are not necessarily both. Many are just one of them, and some are neither. But the entire organization is compromised. So much so they were repeatedly outsmarted by a depressed chuunibyou.

Everyone in the comments must be amnesiac to forget the heroes have repeatedly been proven to be both incompetent and corrupt.

The armed convoy certainly isn't Western European, New World, or East Asian.

Why? Do you perhaps live in France? I think there's no danger in seeing the evils of the French Revolution. It was a vile movement led by the interests of the spiteful.
