Not sure we're reading the same manga, here. None of what you're intoning implies in this story at all.
- MC, just last chapter, monologued it took him two hours to find three slimes, meaning he's just as useless as he was before Sylphy was summoned despite his level ups. Improvement would have been hunting 10 or so on his own in a shorter amount of time. He couldn't even do that much.
- Sylphy herself isn't boasting any great personality. She has three modes: "love my master", "violent over my master's disrespect by others", and "fatally-clumsy".
- The director (RIGHTFULLY) decided that the whole fight was a waste of time in what was your typical 1-cour anime ad for a LN/WB variant, and they likely were never getting a followup season. Thus, why waste time on a plot line destined to never be rightfully explored (The Demon King cursing Lucelia)

Ah. So it's not just my mood. I see I came to the same conclusion a year ago.

Maybe it's my mood, but reareading this near a year later has me pissed off. MC shouldn't be alive for all the mistakes he makes. The tank has gotten her master killed on several occasions entirely because of her attitude and complete lack of awareness of surroundings. And then this demon pops up acting full-out like a parasite. I can't get into this. It's not comedy, it's just dumb and frustrating.

Goddamnit, I'm tired of authors disrespecting the brevity and setting of a dungeon. I wish this MC would be scarred or killed.

The stance to consider is a few years going absolutely nowhere versus increasing leaps & bounds in what seems to be one or two months. And the problem is he himself has a nebulous goal, and as a result can't think objectively of what to do with his boons. If he were, for example, hunting for some bauble in the deeper floors, then his mind would lean on more firepower, thus keeping the card. If it were working to be fiscally-solvent, then selling the card and learning to game the floors with Syphy would be the objective.

But instead, he's another milquetoast MC with no forward plan, primed to make impulsive decisions and not learn anything from them whether they be mistakes or boons.

I long for the days when MCs had objectives and were dedicated to fulfilling them.
