That aside, this story's a joke. There's a lot of page-wasting characters who don't challenge or grow MC at all. At this point the Mephistopheles character has been rendered a bumbling buffoon, so now new "challenges" don't even hold weight of tension, to say the least of threat. The characters that DO have some sort of B or C plot running in the background are just that: background fodder that gets swept away quickly. The romance angles are useless in their entirety—who cares that the 3rd wheel is a fujo if she's not going to do anything with it, or get caught as a result of not checking her impulses? Who cares if Exner's heir is going to become a splendid knight, when all he did was get carried the whole arc instead of actually doing his own work (and that's on top of bowing his head to Capt Erectsplosion instead of standing on his principles in that fixed match)? Who cares if the princess knight is a sadist when it's genuinely not being used outside of visual gags that aren't even as witty or clever as when Darkness, who she's obviously a play on, did them first & better? Who cares about the new waifu-in-stone when she'll likely be as pointless as the other two (four, but authors are cowards that never allow gag characters like the engineer saleswomen to have hands laid on them)?

The only action worth value was Liam nut-checking the idiot noble of his own territory for slandering his robo waifu. But I get the feeling that won't be followed up on in any capacity, given we didn't even get the minimum of a name from the writers of the offending bigot. It's just kinda a waste of time. Waiting on MC to be challenged on something. The phobia as a result of him being cheated on, his "ambition" vs how he wants subordinates to be treated, being someone who worked a black company to their demise, the empire not liking his opinion on robots—anything.

The public in general doesn't pay attention to details, they will only know what the papers and the rumor mills say. Killing one corrupt official would get overlooked, but several more will make it seem that the lord of the land is bloodthirsty, regardless of whether the corrupt deserve it or not. Not to mention it's the ultimate punishment, so people will regard an established streak of actions like that fearfully. To say the least of getting replacements at all, it's all MC would be able to do to avoid a revolution sparked by those same corrupt officials and a fearful public.
