It's not a professional opinion, it's just an opinion. The breakdown was to help people get an understanding of why this particular book was dragging at this point in time, and the long & short of it was from multiple venues: the pov is hopping around in odd ways that SHOULD give context to other plot but fails to do so, said characters end up mattering very little as the plot progresses, the MC refuses to be proactive when he clearly has a race against the clock to deal with, and the whole matter is being taken as a snail's pace, exacerbating the prior issues. And on top of that, all of this is hard to decipher thanks to the machine translating.

And I have to give this style of exposition credit, as rereading this thread & my explanations from a year ago quickly pulled up what lead me to ultimately abandoning this sadsack book that went nowhere and accomplished nothing of note. If you're having fun with it, more power to you. But I think I made my points clear on how I find the series very wanting.

I mean this entire story is basically a low-level edging exercise for them and it's simultaneously boring and frustrating.

Keeping the stakes of the plot at proper tension = interesting story.

You have to understand the 8 pages of elf smut were necessary enough that shortening it a page to turn over a kidnapper and rapist to authorities was too high a price to pay.
