I hope none of the main characters got killed off. Sure it can give great impact, but with how fun I got from watching them have fun, it would leave a bad taste.

I think one reason for the partial chapter release is to ward of snipers. This shows that the group is still alive ang working on the series, albeit slowly. So yea, better to wait for full chapters if that's to your liking, but you shouldn't really be bothered with this kinf of release plan. Hell, I even wait for whole arc to finish for some series like urasekai picnic for example. And I don't mind, there are lots more to read after all.

Points actually would make more low quality comments pops up more, imho. Since like you said, some people would probably be competitively enough to comments on everything while skirting the spam category, which we don't even know how they think which comments are spam.

This is almost around the end of chapter 11 of vol 1 of the LN, if anyone curious. And yea, the whole fight that the manga take all these chapters, is happened just on that chapter 11 of LN. Kinda make me worried about the future of this manga series.
