Tbh, I now get the reason behind the dissonance I felt at this arc.
I never really got the reason why the author put so much effort into this arc.

But this chapter explains it all.
Kouruko REALLY loves her sensei. Almost like a parent. I never really had a connection like that.
But if I think about it now, I would pull out all the stops for a teacher I really cared about, like a family.

I think the Author put their love for a teacher from their life in to this story.
That's why this arc has as much love it has, comparable to other manga's confession arcs.

Basically, instead of one thick plate of armour, you use two thinner plates.

I thought if this guy can make multiple shields, that would be better.
Lower energy consumption, but the mental fatigue to control multiple barriers would increase.

Increased fatigue for a more efficient shield that costs lesser energy.
