He wants to be Togashi so bad. He wants to just right a shit ton of exposition about the details of the magic system and have it be interesting but it just isn’t.

I mean seriously, drawing ruby getting stabbed but it’s actually Akane in a wig with a knife proof vest that was completely invisible under her clothes. What if she got stabbed in the face? What if the killer brought a gun or even just a hammer or a bat which would deal blunt force trauma that a thin stab proof vest would be less equipped to deal with?

That was stupid. That was such an awful and uninteresting payoff to the cliffhanger from last chapter which completely undermined the tension and stakes that had been built up. I enjoy plenty of series that are full of twists this bad but I’ve learned to expect a greater level of quality from akasaka aka. Well I think I will like the twist with Hikaru Kamiki having lied about his true malevolence since lies are the main theme of this story. I just want the lies to make the story more compelling not less.

I wonder if the deaths of the villagers will fuel him as well

Don’t be fooled like I was. This is NOT like ancient magus bride. Even though the premise and setting sounds exactly like ancient magus bride. The tone and the types of stories this series is interesting in telling are completely different. This series has the shounen tag and it does feel like a shounen. I don’t think this is bad just not what I expected.

We know it was an Andy Warhol piece and it wasn’t his 200 one dollar bills. If someone has the raws I’d be interested to see, but a few chapters ago when I looked for them because I wanted to see the Francis Bacon piece I couldn’t find it.
