Im not exactly opposed to the paranormal stuff, but I really like the setting, it reflects real life, so I wish paranormal stuff wasn't included and maybe three different characters were being followed. Like the high school boy is good because we get to see his parent trying to provide him an enriching life and being taken away but other lives in this setting would be nice too, like an adult and an elderly trying to navigate the thought police

I wouldnt care about being demoted to e if they take away both my parents, the only deterrent is it effects your family members, and I wouldnt be attached to the new assigned ones, I would demote to an e faster knowing it'll get them too since in my eyes they would be part of the system that took my parents away in the first place. I dont know why an e wouldnt fight back tho, whats left to lose, hopefully it explains further
