Blame certain websites and apps that monetize this stuff in such a way that we ended up here.
If you see any work that has its chapters split in half, like this one, Yuan Zun, and Douluo Dalu/Soul Land 4 -> then it's to maximize profit at massive inconvenience for everyone else.

Every "chapter" read on those websites/apps costs either time or money. The "cost of time" is along the lines of:
"A cooldown between chapters. It starts at just a second, then 30 seconds, then a minute, then two minutes, then five, 10, 15, 30, then an hour, 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours and finally 48 hours -> and reset back to a minute."
"You don't wanna wait? Oh speak no further! Give us money and we'll instantly have the next chapter ready to read AND we'll also reset the cooldown!" Sigh... there's an air of "How nice are we?" as they try to convince you "no no no no! We're not the bad guys!" as they're doing scumbag practices such as this.

tl;dr: when it comes to reading this, which is under 500 chapters -> by splitting the chapter in half, they've effectively made it almost 1000 chapters. Why? Money.

I just realized we're almost to 200 chapters. This little "Side Story" has been ongoing for around 4 years now. Eden's Zero has ended a few months ago at 293 chapters.

Mr. Main Character is keen on avoiding unnecessary bloodshed.... but why? You can see all these creatures as NPCs in a game; as in, not really sentient.

I can blame this directly -> on the skill he got that lets him speak monsters' languages back when he killed the goblin king.

Still, I would like to take a moment to point out that this is a much better result than if he just slaughtered all the "NPCs" without mercy. Forget not having Dame Seregia, he would've lose his heart and mind.

Since then, I've come across two more manhwa that do this sort of thing too. There are arguments to be had between all these.

"Gosu" which decided that the best way to show off how powerful something is -> is to zoom out and show the power of the martial artist and the damage it inflicts on nature that is surrounding without skipping steps.

Okay, I finished reading this. You can look for my other comments for more reasons as to why this is an amazing read.

This manhwa is pretty amazing. 10/10 you should read this if you like murim manhwa. It's got it all:
Great plot with added twists to surprise you
Characters with far more depth than you'd imagine
and so much more.

There is a layer of humor that covers this manhwa but don't let it fool you. The humor is simply a smoke screen to have you walk into some carefully put together sequences that will blow you away. It also serves as a cushion after a whole bunch of heavy plot stuff -> the comedy is well handled and can help you adjust as you're reading along.

I want to address a certain commenter who dropped this manhwa because he hated how Mr. Main Character often picked non-lethal approaches to combat -> you blithering buffoon. Did you not realize that these characters became full-time relevant characters that have stuck around? Four times it happens and all four times feature characters who could've been one-time goofballs that just get killed -> but instead, they stick around and become essential to the plot down the road. Not an ounce is wasted and, importantly, one of these characters really annoyed me in their "introduction" -> but ended up becoming my favorite character in this entire manhwa.

Things may not be what they seem. Machinations are in motions and this manhwa is a real page turner. "I'll just read a few chapters then sleep" - I said a few hours ago, in bed, losing sleep because I'm reading this manhwa.

Again, as shown in my other comments, this manhwa's art and attention to detail and action choreography are top notch. It's up there competing with Ghost King (another manhwa with top notch action choreography) but it also comes with amazing characters, plot, romance and all that stuff.

In short, 10/10. Absolutely recommend it.
I can't imagine how torturous it was to wait for updates but that's not a problem as it is completed.

Skill Casting Time +50%? So he's 50% slower? or is the word supposed to be "Speed?" "Skill Casting Speed +50%" makes a lot more sense.

Just a reminder, he's like... 12 or something. If his planet made any sense, he wouldn't be a child soldier... fighting dragons and their minions.

I dunno where you're pulling this "confirmation" from. Sure, she's pretty and is willing to just... how do they say it back then? Something along the lines of "be his property" I guess... and yeah, whoever her dad is will most likely be happy that she went to someone strong, but that is not confirmation of anything. She could be very well plotting a backstab, for all we know; unlikely, but still possible. Keep it in your pants.

I sure hate bugs... and now they made themselves worse via detonating upon being killed. This is something you'd wish with a genie if you wanna truly terrorize this planet.
