I imagine that is the case for outsiders. But like I said, his parents at least know without a doubt what he is. If I found out that my kid was an impossible combination of two species, two pure blood lines at that, I would have a bit more of an animated reaction. They were just like "Huh...anyway."

He's used the intimidation technique during training and has the brute strength of one, which he wouldn't have if he were just immortal since they're naturally weaker. The uncle just referred to him as an immortal too, so the rest of the world may not know, but they for sure do.

Have they really not addressed the fact that he's a one of a kind mixed breed? The thing they made a point of to say was impossible? Like, it was just accepted and brushed off as quickly as they found out? It's been bothering me how nonchalant they've been about it.

Most of his team got wiped a few chapters back. He was likely trying to dissuade them from going.

This type of story telling/pacing was the reason I genuinely hated Record of Ragnarok. All the build up for the fight to start and 5 seconds in everything came to an ass grinding halt for a backstory/flashback of one fighter that took forever. Then, after it goes back to the fight and you're like, cool, the action I'm here for, bam, ass grinding halt so they do the backstory/flashback of the other fighter. THEN, after that's over and you think it will finally get to the fight, it all all stops again and someone outside of the fight goes on some monologue about the two fighters and by the time the actual fight ends, you couldn't give a shit.

But at least in that, the backstories weren't about irredeemable trash whom you couldn't have sympathy for what so ever. The author is trying so hard to make these characters out to be nuanced sympathetic characters, but they're just hypocrites in the worst of ways.

lol, From the sounds of it, they would be 2, if not 3 generations apart from the brothers in question. I'm not a inbreeding expert, but that doesn't sound like a long enough time.

I mostly remember it cause of the scene with his mom that followed, where she rehabilitates the girl. Other than that, we just had a chapter just before this incident where she meets her "father" and rejects him.

I think it plays really well into the D&D setting it uses. A good DM will have multiple benefits and/or consequences to a single scenario. Not engaging an enemy could and should have it's own set of variables.
