But in manga it begins and ends with the katana being favored. Unless it´s a sports manga focusing on Bōjutsu or Kyudo or even fencing. I think I casually read some once.

In ANY manga with non firearm focused weapons, Western or not, fantasy or not, the most favored one or even the ultimate weapon that triumphs other weapons is always the katana.
