The second point is correct, the "alternate timeline" is the "original timeline" which has technically been "overlapped" by the current timeline.

MC has been dealing with people who will get in his way and he has been dealing with people that will get in his way and has been plotting such as the two sects in the current chapter he's plotting against to build up forces to go against the white dude

The lady who was running the brothel is likely up on the list of people to "take care of" and when the MC gets back he might "take care" of her or he might not, there's not a lot of evidence supporting either side.

In this chapter the MC did make a deal with the Heavenly Mountain because he was too weak to fight again them He also betrayed them because he doesn't want to work for them he wants them destroyed, but he made the pact before in order to betray them later

The MC IS making his own forces in this timeline (he's even doing it in the current chapter)

And once again, one of the MC's main goals/current goals is the destructions of the Heavenly Mountain
