Yes. I just read from chap 1 to 113 in the last 2 days. It was hinted at that Hugin, the raven who took over his fathers body, had a role in preventing him from become a mage in his first life. Buuut sence we dont have the full back story of his first life we dont know just how much of a role Hugin played in screwing him over.
