From what I’ve been able to gather, the site went through a major redesign at some point, and though they imported the old comments from the old database, they did it in a way that doesn’t match them up with the current account system, so comments from before the change can’t be replied to, but comments from after it can.

Terrorists are the stupid, filthy ones. You have no place on a civilized planet.

He doesn’t care about that, but getting to cook and eat delicious food forever? I think he might just like that outcome. XD

Star Fox is a Nintendo first party IP game series. “Do a barrel roll!” ring a bell?

Mind, when Krystal was first introduced, she did immediately become a furry sensation, too.

You’ve never heard of Krystal? The blue vixen from Star Fox?! You poor, abused, deprived child!

Here, have a dose STAT!

He gets it from the same people that supply Krystal, who you might notice is not just blue but the exact same shade of blue! 🤣

Hedgehogs are small, cute, and mildly prickly.

Porcupines are larger, ungainly, lumbering tanks with armor made from frigging spears.

Well, two chapters in and the pacing on this is all over the place, the translation is a hot mess, and frankly the one episode of the anime that’s out is way better. So much so that I suspect it’s based on whatever novel this was based on, rather than based on this. It’s a lot more coherent.

Not impressed.

Ah. So the rune really was referring to its fertility meaning. Wow. 🤣

I hate to break it to you, but those are Elder Futhark runes from Old Norse tradition, so they’re almost a couple thousand years older than Ultima.

The first rune word is written with Nauthiz, Ehwaz, and Tiwaz, and really does spell NEET.

The second is Berkano, Ansuz, Raidho, Eihwaz, Sowilo. Since BARYS is nonsense (unless it’s a name that shows up later in the manga) then this may be referring to the runes meanings and not their equivalent letter in the modern alphabet.

Berkaz is birth, growth, fertility, new beginnings.
Ansuz is Odin, insight, inspiration, communication, true-seeing.
Raidho is chariot, travel, journey.
Eihwaz is yew tree, strength, reliability, trustworthiness.
Sowilo is the sun, success, achieving one’s goal, honor.

So it may be “Now beginning communication to start a journey to gain strength and success.” With the reference to moving heavenwards, it may also be referencing a journey to a chariot of suns… a starship.

😜

Read up to the current release. The complaints about this one are overblown. It’s better than a lot of similar premises.

His teleport seems to have a cast time of one second per meter traveled. That makes it very difficult to use tactically mid-fight: even moving one meter takes long enough that one could cross it more easily by just stepping. The best use I could see making of it in combat is planning to blink away across the room or behind the enemies after a strike and initiating the cast before moving in for said strike—and even that only works if movement or attacks don’t interrupt the cast.

Edit: and since the very next chapter opens with him using it to teleport past a magic attack, and he has to stop and stand still briefly to do it, that suggests movement does interrupt the cast.
