basically if people could control them like that, wars would be fought over them and it would be chaotic. it's basically like having knowledge of making a nuke, but making it so that people only ever know how to make grenades and killing anyone who ever actually makes tnt.

its because doing so demonstrate an ability that could be used for military might. so the state keeps tight control over it to prevent it proliferating.

I had forgotten about this manga! Its been so long since i've read it, it had stopped being released.

what if she knows his motives and is playing him. that would be neat.

Or damaging a target gives his skill a baseline as to how powerful it should make him to destroy the target. It actually has a lot of potential to be explored but i doubt this manga will ever get that deep.

can't make enemies weaker, but can make him stronger than target enemy. There is that whole condition that he has to actually damage it in some form so that is a bit of a check on that power. so he can never overcome a target that he can't even damage.

also when the going is good, you don't rock the boat.

when it comes to curses, he is OP. so much so that death is afraid of him lol

I reread that chapter. they don't really explain how that fight started or who started it. It did seem like magicians who were gifted with a lot of magic looked down on weaker ones. The guy had an entourage more than guards, not that he seemed like he needed guards anyways. given how badly he was beaten up, its likely he probably was forced to defend himself. Clearly it didn't really matter what the context was, what mattered was that he was killed without a chance.

well i suppose that dude is lucky as hell too.

so far we haven't seen it, but it can manipulate probability, the likelihood that something can or can't happen. so far everyone thinks that that hero tripped and messed up and poisoned himself, but it's highly unlikely that a guy as strong as him would just falter in such a stupid way.

The anime is not bad actually. Thus Far it has remained faithful to the story. the animation isn't really that bad either but it remains to be seen if they will do this fight justice.

Just to put a bit of perspective (a futile thing i suppose), in feudal era, a noble could kill a peasant without so much a thought or even reason. It was the way of things. Much like in the future, if society improves enough, we will find the death penalty as barbaric and inhuman.(not to mention a waste of a life and resources).

for lloyd to have died the way he did would seem unfair to us, but you should remember the look he had when he died. He wasn't bitter or angry. he was impressed and mesmerized by a magic that was orders of magnitude superior to his.

but on the flip side, he was born into a world where he not only commands limitless magic, but he's neither bitter or angry, nor does he hold a grudge or look down on people less powerful than him. In fact he works to make them stronger.

if you look at that, then this is a great opportunity to do a callback to that time and maybe resolve the underlying issue in a lloyd way.

no. if you read it entirely, you would know he was eager to accept because he wants to see the magic the military uses, which apparently he doesn't have access to.

no, we should thank the old man. he basically gave him a second chance. He didn't know it at the time of course, but everyone was doing exactly what their world allows them to do. No hard feelings there. Well granted its hind sight, but still.

to be honest this manga had been great, but now it just got elevated. This is how you build up a character. It's how you build up a story and then a fight.

LETS GOOOOOO!!!!!! I knew a god had to intervene on his behalf or he would have died. It is this kind of manga. But to have both of them show up is just too good! I really hope this doesn't become a free for all on gods all fawning over him.

At the very least he must have caught the attention of another god or two just by fighting here.
