No the step father tried to have sex with her and then she told her mom about that and all his mistresses so they would divorce. But her mom refused and didn't want to divorce him.

No but the amount of attention he'll get will make it harder for him to excuse himself from certain events and go on the nightly hunts. By hiding his identity he makes it easier to slip out without much attention drawn to him.
