First off we dont know the regressors plans, this could just be the easiest way for world domination or more accuritly this could just be his way of getting close to the mc .
Second off this is mostly a normal occerance for the mc since the towers have been around for her entire life and massacures would be fairly uncomon so there would be no way for her to know that this time would be different.
And lastly she doesnt owe anyone just for being strong (but i not really qualified to talk about ethics and morality)

In what way. The game hasnt started to kill people, the players are neither trapped nor are they clearing floors, and i dont recall sao haveing any npc's. It looks more like ready player one than sao

Should he have been able to react to it, no but he did anyway. The comic's logic is so bad it physicly hurts to try to understand and will only end on failer

The problem is that mass requires a near infinte amount of energy to travel at light speed, so when he uses his light beam he should be cauaing a exctinction level event but since theyre not nearly that powerful his photons travel way slower then light speed, although the particles are still traveling really fast he couldnt block/dodge them.
Btw In rl photons travel at the speed of light because they are a massless particle
