Filler and backstory are not the same. Filler is not cannon or has no relevance to the story. Her motivations and the exact nature of her powers/how she got them likely do have relevance to the story.

While the root of the word may imply a mistake, that is not the only definition. You're clearly unwilling to consider any possibility other than the idea that these people who are overworked and underpaid (by your admission) changed a translation intentionally to censor the word kill when as you point out they use the word kill elsewhere. Who knows, maybe you think they did it just to piss you off. Either way, ascribing intent to people you don't know is one of the dumbest and most intellectually dishonest thing anyone can do. Do you know Korean? If not, then how do you know they don't have a different word for killing things you hunt, or completing a hunt, or killing in videogames, that has multiple or a different meaning. If you do know Korean and know that's not the case then go read the raws and stop complaining about translation you don't need. Also mistranslation just means incorrect translation regardless of the reason it's incorrect, be it intentional or otherwise.
