She simply went on full denial and self hatred. Believing that she can unmake her mistake from the past even if she has to drawn herself in the hate of others to achieve that. Which makes sense from her character perspective but ain't portrait that well in the manga adaptation.

The Novel makes more sense than this one. It doesn't properly portrait her downward spiral into denial and desperation to repent herself.
