Early on its mentioned that mystic powers have many different characteristics, airen can summon a sword, the sister i cant remember the name of can imbue life into dolls? Or make dolls and give them life.

I dont think his son joined the demons. This story has been very hopeful when it comes to humans. Sure, we have had evil people in the past, but they were always evil or it took decades of constant belittling for them to turn evil. I doubt the author would have the single loss be the cause of him turning evil. Maybe theres more to it if he is one but i just dont buy it. It feels too lame for this story.
