In history there are hundreds of stories about how the allies missed the opportunity to save the day, and famous defeats were the result. There are also just as many cases how people arrived in the nick of time to save the day. Now, who's story is a better read? Partly it depends on who your ancestors were, are they the ones massacred in the battle or the ones that had allies arrive just in time. "Plot armor" exists in real life.

It takes a good Japanese boy to show these gaijin where they've missed out.

I was going to add to it, but realized the convo below is a year old. Anyways cheese was brought to Korea during the war we participated in over there. the US sent teams of ag scientists and farmers to teach them how to farm... Even though they had zero traditions eating them, beef and cheese caught on, along with spam and hot dogs.
There's a local place that makes Asian Pizza, Kim Chee Pizza, Rangoon Pizza, Thai Pizza, Mongolian Beef Pizza, Orange Chicken and Gen Tsao Pizza, and Thai Chicken Pizza with Peanut sauce.

in the early 80's my second cousin moved to Australia and would write home and ask for them to ship him peanut butter. He asked everyone he met about it, but no peanut butter, it took him years to figure out they sold it as Peanut Paste. Anyway my point is that when you're away from them, simple things can mean a lot.

Almost every new anime/manga seems to have plenty of them, too many bare midriffs for a the apparent climate

When you've got two almost identical blonde hotties it's hard to tell one wizened wretch from another. I was wondering why the granny from the one fam was running around in the others camp.

Archetypes exist for a reason, different from stereotypes that categorize an entire group with a label, this calls out an individuals behavior.

exactly, thank you. Also, when people do write those stories they're depressing as hell. I read Death of a Salesman in high school and all it did was make me never want to be a salesman.

I always wonder about stuff like this in a social context. In traditional Japanese society Merchants were at the lowest rung, even below peasant farmers, so very different from most western societies. So as a hunter does it take him down a notch to become a food stall seller.

What are we missing, if he'd said "cooked myanu" we'd know. https://i.postimg.cc/xT6XVmBY/i.png

I keep thinking we must be missing some kind of anus pun in the translation, but they don't use our alphabet so I dunno, maybe its just me. https://i.postimg.cc/rsWNYJfr/i.png

This could also be a translation error or being Taboo is a good/bad thing, like the stone people only let them do things that are taboo. Like those scumbags are only fit to do things we can't/won't do. Like the good/stone people have the taboo but the forest people are bizzarro world to all things. Taboo for us Stoners, so they are not Taboo for the forest peeps, because they are not blessed by the forest.

Except, look at Ribs, Chicken Wings, even Lobster. All dishes suitable only for poor people/servants/bottom rung in society and then after years they've all turned into foods that are priced out of reach of who they were originally for. Per pound Ribs cost more than pork loin, the cut that used to be considered the best cut, same for wings, something they used to throw away. And lobster was considered a bottom feeder, a garbage seafood. It could happen to the Giba if earth is any example. I too wish we could comment on these long lost denizens of Discus logins.

Maybe you have to hear it live... I didn't see any audience shots, and the rest of the orchestra would probably be used to it by now.
