This is pretty much what Shinto is, multiple gods whose power is based on their believers. So is this like the Shinto edition of Veggie Tales...

Its just ugly by comparison to the others. Go to a casting call in Los Angeles and you'll understand. The people who were the best looking in their high school move there to go into acting, so they're competing with the best looking from all over the world who go there to get discovered. It was insane in the 80's so I'm sure its worse now.
