I'd say the greatest difference is the fact that this MC genuinely enjoys killing and usually chooses the most cruel or the most deadly method to achieve his goals even if it's slightly less profitable in the long run. Other than that this MC has far more "cultivation talent" then Fang Yuan, but far less experience and long term scheming ability. They're both about the same in terms of moment by moment ingenuity and planning though.
