Fun fact soap-nuts/berries are a real thing, there the fruits of 13 trees and shrubs in genus Sapindus. All that's needed to make soap is boiling water and chopped soapnuts.

This is by far the most interesting thing to come out of this aggressively clichéd manga.

Don’t think about it to much as the tech level is totally schizophrenic. Going by the Broad Street cholera outbreak and the Crimean Crimm War it should be around 1855.

The weapons I’ve seen are late medieval broadswords, modern revolvers (her brother teaches her how to use a 1950s short barrel colt python), ww1 rifles, ww2 pineapple grenades and like you said an AK on his coat of arms.

There also a 1910s era ocean liner then later on a fleet of 1700s wooden sailing ships of the line.

There’s also modern hospitals with electric lights , smoke detectors, plastic syringes/IV bags etc, easy anesthetic (it was cutting edge in this era and mostly involved chloroforming patient). They use modern medical PPE and disinfectant but don’t understand waterborne pathogens like cholera.

I sure there’s load more I’m missing.

The translation might have been too literal, as Korean is a gender-neutral language the words for king (왕 - wang) and queen (여왕 - yeowang) are the same word apart from the yeo prefix meaning female. I guess as female king sounds weird in English they changed it to be just king - but I have no idea why they didn't just change it to queen when the translators are this good.

So far (ch20) its OK, the start is weak with the pathetic town guards, who are only in it to show how badass and capable the MC is. Once you get past that and the ML and the main plot are introduced (ch10) it's definitely improving.

It kinda makes me think of the S-Class Hunter Doesn't Want to Be a Villainous Princess, in that the MC deserves a better story than the one there in.

Maybe it's because he comes across as so weak and desperate for the MC's attention and approval, but it's all self-centered on want he wants as opposed to a character like Anakhin from Kill the Villainess who's unselfishly dedicated to the Eris.

Its 8 years by the Korean age system and 6-7 years old by international reckoning. In the Korean method a child is considered 1 as soon as there born and a child age goes up a year on Jan 1st. So if a child was born in Jan and another in December, both would be considered 2 years old come new year.

White rice is milled removing the outer layers of the grain just leaving the carb rich core, this also strips out all the thiamine out the rice. A thiamine deficiency (beri beri or kakke) will mess you up in a big way causing issues in the nervous and cardiovascular systems.

White rice was considered a status symbol in Japan and with industrial processing of rice becoming available in the late 1800s, the military used it as a way to entice recruits into signing up. As rice was the staple food for the military a huge number soldiers and sailors contracted beri beri with thousands dying.
