But it kind of has nothing to do with this specific situation. side characters if done Right are pretty good everybody likes them because they gave depth to the story they also show other perspectives other than the mc's. but in this situation they're never brought again and they had no significance to the story you could have literally deleted them and they would make no difference to story whatsoever .
