  Just don't, the anime skipped so much, messed up the order of events, cut and true to sew things back together, the only praiseworthy parts are the action ones, but I even came back and re-read the manga after, is so much more explained and flashed out that you don't even feel spoiled by the anime, feels like a different story 😂

        here, webnovel is not complete. From my guesses it is in its penultimate story arc.
        
        As for author, He wrote latest chapter in september which chapter 463. And the next chapter might be in 2025 or 2026

    I know this is out of context but GogoAnime and other various "Free Anime" sites have either shut down or stopped updating for a few weeks already, 13 December 2024 today and still no news except that that US companies are doing a mass shut down of these sites, also, Disney might buy Pokemon, so be ready for a non-binary transgender super helicopter black/brown/blue Pikachu...

  Which is why we watch the anime just for the main plot and Makoto fighting scenes. Meanwhile we read the manga/novel for the world building. I dare say This has one of the most fascinating world building an isekai ever have and I never got bored reading them

        There where loads extra chapter which followed pov of different side character, sometime even Mio and tomoe. All those chapter had commons, that it mostly have nothing to do with main stroy, and makato was missing from list character in that chapter.
        
        I only read like 2 or 3 extra chapter

I mean, come on—she’s fierce, powerful, calculated, and absolutely ruthless in combat. At the same time, she carries a strong presence and undeniable beauty. I’m not knocking Sakura—she’s alright—but Ellahan operates on an entirely different level. Real talk.

Every scene she’s in? I love it. She has this intensity that commands attention, and it never feels like she's trying too hard. It’s just who she is. And look, Karen is still my favorite and always will be—but I have a ton of respect for Ellahan. Since her debut, she’s more than proven her value to the story. She’s not just a side character or eye candy—she’s a warrior with presence and purpose.

Honestly, if we ever got a spinoff series focused entirely on her—exploring the journey that led her to becoming a Saintess, the training, the hardships, the choices she made—I’d buy it in a heartbeat. There’s so much untapped story potential there, and I think she deserves that kind of spotlight.

I have a in lore explanation and a more "meta" explanation:

-in lore is that he prefers to have a body that can't be harmed (he has iron skin now) compared to one that can be harmed but regenerates.
It's also possible that he has planned to get essences that already cover regeneration\\immortality so there is no need to be redundant.

-meta explanation is that the author realized that the skill of the vampire essence was actually more busted than the immortality.
He could steal strenght to all enemies around him to boost his own, that's actually crazy to play around so he decided to remove it and give the MC a more traditional offensive skill.
