Man... I love how story is told... But I feel I would've loved to see this kid leave some of those years. 5 years asleep is like a timeskip in a standard shounen manga, but done in an insane way.
Also, FIVE YEARS! That is such a long long time !!

Oh yeah; about the guy in his dreams....ya know what I was thinking a few chapters ago? What if that guy is his son? The thought popped into my mind when I saw Ilya or whatever the white haired girl's name is. I was thinking it could be their kid.
(Or he really is just some sort of representation of MC's will ....or my previous assumption that he is MC in the future...damn I'm curious on how everything is gonna play out in this story.)
For me i'm thinking its the future MC from a version of himself that never got up from his bed and stayed a deadbeat until some demons did something to his family and territory and escaped far away from the eyes of people and nobility, regretting that he never took up a sword to protect his family. Knowing that he swings his sword day after day as a form of punishment for all the time he wasted and strictly forced himself to swing that sword till the day he dies despite knowing that doing so isnt gonna bring his family back. And in how his determination and memories made it to his past self was probably the whims of a higher being respecting the man's sword swing till his death and thinking it's such a waste for all his effort to go to his grave, it gave another version of irene a chance to take on his sword. Like the passing of the torch to one another.
The 5 years time skip was a bit much with the one year promise and all. But imma flip my lid if he doesn't get the sword from the cover soon. His sword is soooo UGLY!!
Nahh dude. The sword looks badass! The dents and scratches are like badges of honor, a proof of hardwork and effort. Like when you get awesome scars from heroic deeds. I prefer this shabby looking blade than the fancy gold covered one in the cover art.
I don't know. She seems to have crossed the line over into complete bich. I wasn't fond of her to begin with, but now I'm pretty sure she's just a straight up c u n t. I mean, she hasn't seen her brother in 5 years and the first she sees him conscious again she's berating him and disrespecting him again as if he intentionally got himself stuck in the mystic barrier to be a deadbeat once more. To take that kind of attitude after all the effort he put in and how much he improved himself. I don't know.
He's literally been unconscious for 5 years and the first thing he wants to do is go out on a dangerous subjugation mission. Who in their right mind would just agree to that without seeing if he's actually improved?

Yes, bruh. I read the chapter. I suggest you go back and read all the ones prior. The whole reason he was down for 5 years was because he was awakening mystic powers inside that sphere. If he never came out, it means he failed. The fact he came out means he succeeded in getting the result he desired. They can already visually see that he's bigger and stronger without even testing him. My contention is how much doubt and lack of any confidence they're showing him after all the progress he made even before this. Asking to see the results of his awakening would be fine. I'm with that. It's the approach and obvious lack of belief in him. Kiril has always been pretty hardcore tsundere, but this has gone past that, imo. Also, I suggest re-reading chapter 26.
Again, on what basis would his family just believe it's fine with sending him out? They've never seen him actually fight or spar, even after he returned from the academy. Even when he schooled the other kids, it was without any of his family witnessing it.
Kiril has always been stated to be bad at communicating her feelings to him, and losing him for another 5 years after his recovery clearly hasn't helped that part of her. This is entirely in line with how she's acted throughout the rest of the story. She's even doing exactly what you said you're fine with, if just with a different attitude.
And what about chapter 26. The powerful mystic arts energy? The explanation Ruru gives her? That doesn't diminish the fact that he's been stuck that way for 5 years and it's hardly unreasonable for someone to start losing hope/faith.
I'm not even sure what we're arguing about anymore. So, just going with short summation: don't like Kiril. Don't think after 5 years his family wouldn't have heard about his accomplishments at the sword school. Don't feel he's getting treated right.

I think that will be true if it was the her from 5 years before, but after all this time has passed she has definitely changed. You could tell in the way her parents reacted to her when she showed up. Like they were afraid of her. But, in a week from now I could be completely wrong. I usually am. Haha
Even so, I imagine Irene's magic coma was the catalyst for any twists in her personality. Just think about how furious she must be with Ruru at this point. No wonder that cat didn't stick around.
Even waaay back when Irene first got out of bed and asked to go to the training grounds, Kiril wasn't any good at expressing concern or worry for him. Hence why she usually reconciles with him through letters instead of in person.
All she knows right now is that he's been in a coma for five years. She's probably hoping to make him see reality.
Of course, she doesn't know how strong he's become.

Well, this is dumb... The fact that he spent 5 years in a coma is dumb. The fact that his body isn't feeble as fuck after such a long time is dumb. The fact that he didn't complete the "1 year promise" is dumb. The fact that NOBODY has done anything about the subjugation in 5 years is dumb. The fact that the fucking cat that was the cause of his coma just left is dumb.
If he really wanted a time skip, the author could have made him go train or something, but in real life... The whole premise of the story is that the guy was always in bed, doing nothing... Soooo, to get stronger, and strengthen his resolve, he just... stayed in fucking bed doing nothing... for five years.
That goes against everything that happened in the first 30 chapters, and that's just bullshit. And the author has the gall to actually finish this fucking chapter with another cliffhanger.

Um, I think you might be dumb. -He wasn't in a coma. He was in a pocket dimension, demiplane, alternate reality, whatever you want to call it. He only appeared to be frozen in a gem to the real world. -He isn't feeble because he was never in a coma and he spent the majority of his time in intense physical training. Again, how it looked to the people who saw him frozen in a gem is irrelevant.
-Shit happens, who cares about the 1 year promise? He found his own way of the sword by awakening mystic arts, he doesn't really need the sword academy now. He's on a level beyond it.
-It's not the same subjugation, if you were paying attention it's something that's done regularly to keep the monster population in check. -I'm sure Ruru will be back. You expected him to sit there for 5 years? Besides I bet he concluded that he had brought misfortune to Irene as he did to the others and probably went off to sulk somewhere.
Did you miss the point where the entire definition of mystic arts is that they make the impossible, possible? He didn't stay in his bed doing nothing, it just looked that way to someone outside. In the world created by his own will, he trained endlessly in ways that would be impossible in real life. This not only doesn't go against the first 30 chapters, it's actually quite consistent with it considering Kiril's ability to make the impossible possible (creating a Griffin explicitly stated to be a nonexistent legendary creature) established the concept of Mystic arts from chapter fucking 1.
If you're going to criticize something, at least demonstrate a basic understanding of it first.

Anyway this whole situation has become more nonsensical as the author introduced more details, it's clear MC knows there is something going on with lemon and it makes no sense for him to take the breakup the way he did. Lemon's behavior was also stupid, but at least you could have anticipated that from the beginning.
