No shonen lasts forever, and that's especially the case with newer shonen when compared to OP and Naruto, so it would be foolish for WSJ to think they can rest on their laurels for a couple of years.

Obviously all these series exploded after their anime, but you can still compare their growth prior to even getting an anime announcement and Ayashimon still vastly underperforms across the board. Ayashimon is also vastly underperforming against its contemporaries like Sakamoto Days and Blue Box.

You can say Ayashimon had the chance to blow up, but you can say that about any manga.
