So you're telling the man to just swallow hiw hatred and grief and be like "I among the sea of corpses must be the higher one?" You're asking fartoo much of people. For him being hated for his actions it's just a result of his drive, why would he care to leave the land of the people who destroyed hi life anything but barren? and to him diying to a vengeful someone is just prove he had achieved his goals.

People call Hatred a chain because it's breed more, but it's more like an virus, it mutates and change with each passing day, for some it's not bigger than a cold and other it takes their breath away. It can make people somehow stronger after it or crippling debilitating.

There are two ways to end the cycle of revenge. One is for BOTH parties to forgive. One sided forgiveness will just prolong the war. The second is to wipe out all of your enemies with zero lives left to want revenge. Complete annihilation is a mercy.
