He is most guys who read manga, spend most of their time on the internet, a self-reflection of how pitiful they are. Which is why people tend to hate characters like them. I just accept them for who they are. His reactions don't make him weak or beta. This is his first time being treated out like this and by a beautiful girl, we've all done some silly thing in our past for love, friendship, or approval. Through those painful mistakes, we've grown and learned from them. It hurts but it made us wiser so we don't fall for the same trick.

It'd be different if this has happened to him constantly and he just refused to grow from the experience, but this is just his first time. I really don't like mangas like this though because I've dealt with manipulative women in my life before, so if this becomes too much i'll just drop it.
