Damn, I can already see strong potential for some seriously dark twisted s**t coming up in this one.
They had the outline of his family's deaths being hit by a car in first few panels, used it again in the later flashback of her losing her parents along with silhouette what appears to be feet of two people who died by hanging (seen that crap too many times). Not to mention the police tape like lines all over the panel. 

Good bet her 'overseas parents' are actually dead. I'm thinking her parents could have been driving the car that ran over his family, and couldn't live with themselves as a result. 
Fair chance they could have known each other in childhood too.

Wonder how the childhood friend ties into it all.  

He has the strongest and the weakest mentality at the same time.

MC needs to go see a psychiatrist, he's not alright in the head

so from context clues, his parents and sister died in an accident that may have been caused by her parents who in turn committed suicide because of the guilt. at least that's my assumption based on what was shown.

OK chatters as a student of theoretical rizzics breakdown happened in this chapter:- Mc placed too much value on his crush which led him to despair when he got rejected. Remember to place your happiness on things under your control!- Then, he unintentionally rizzed up the cashier girl by showing her a) he can protect her b) he is playful, and c) he can restrain himself. - Lastly, the childhood friend is fucking crazy and also hot, which would place her in the "Danger Zone" in the Hot-Crazy Matrix.

O crap, i forgot i read this first chapter of this manga and noped out before, i accidentally came back thinking its a cute rom com that slipped through my finger, i should properly blacklist this time so i dont get trauma, life is enough trauma for me. Peace 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️
