Did you forgot that the world is like divided into 3 societies? The life he had there for a year is the same as he had on korea. Not all people has superpowers, and he is a commoner, so the society he lives in must be just full of normal people. There's no monsters everywhere unless you go into the battlefield. He just want to live a normal life, a life he couldn't enjoy in his previous life. Also, he doesn't love the game so much, he just like the characters (to the point he used up his money for them). I mean, he even uninstalled it. It's literally all explain on the first chapter...
