This arc has really work its way to show a more human side to Denji.

Like, yes, he's always been very true to his desires in a human way... but also, it feels very animal-like. Like he didn't have room to grow into a "proper human".
But now he's taking others into consideration when taking decisions and it's killing him, but he still does it... it's a nice development I reckon.

Remember that Denji only wanted a normal life, and after makima was eaten, he had that for a time, now he can’t do anything without being seen and has to abandon was is a big part of his identity, really sad to see Denji like this
