I think the only way to snap him out of it is if something is discovered/made to kill a Godhand or even seal them away forever

Either that or Casca's escape. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Griffith said something about going to the east, so I don't think Schierke will be caught by him, but I think there'll be an apostle or 2 to guard Casca.
My prediction is either Schierke will enter Casca's mind and break whatever is making her docile, or she will keep whatever it is at bay while they escape. Luca may even play a part in it.
