So I just realized something. If the "Numinous" project they talked about in the previous chapter is part of DEM's closed beta and zodiac is referring to the mc as part of the beta... Further more it seems like it was an experiment in a VR setting.. and Dem is a game in a vr world. So here's my pitch; the mc was part of the project the future we saw in the beginning was actually a projection of the "Numinous" project. It would make sense since according to the mc when he was in the dungeon with zodiac. It felt like a long time when he was in there but in reality it was instant. So in conclusion the mc IS a closed beta tester and the future he saw was just a dungeon. But it still begs the question how did he get out of it? Cus it seems like a lot of the people who were involved are either dead or in hiding.
Anyway that's just a Theory.. A manhua theory.

  It would also somewhat give some sense go what (Girl from wizard of oz) said to eojin about knowing he regressed or something.... since she would know as its a project that involves a projection into the future and why the president called now when zodiac accesses the secret dungeon and eojin is very accomplished

  that actually work, that explaine a lot of thing
  but there still a lot of issu, like, why is every event that happen in the "Numinous" project. happening in the in the present time too, i refer to both Zodiac attack and Competition that have the same team that go in them and finish at the same spot (out of mc team)

    I said it in the original comment, that the dungeon they went in (which could possibly be the Numinous project itself) causes some sort of time manipulation or it fucks with your sense of time. The mc himself commented on it. When he 'woke up'

      yea that thing must have done some time shit. i maybe even really did, since they sew mc got trow out the very moment he entered, enve though it lasted for a while

  He got a surgery so he can move again.
  
  He just need time to get used to walking again, that's why he was on the wheels.

    He was constantly moving and strengthening his legs to be able to move around, he used to have a cane or crutches i believe but now he is all better i guess
