This reminds me of that scene of “the man from nowhere”. Where he tracked the organ traffickers by locating their disposable cell connection. Wow that one left an impression some of the most realistic and impressive knifework I’ve seen in cinema. A must see for action fans, Korean cinema is still the best outside of Hollywood (though I guess Hong Kong had a moment too, before my time too and before China resolidified control over that pit trap of an SEZ, still miss it though). They have absolutely mastered the revenge flick. For using a katana that gangster is getting awfully close. A Japanese friend is a pretty high ranked kendo practitioner, but b/c of my height whenever I went with him in Tokyo or Sapporo (I rather hit the gym together, but whatever new experiences are good) a nodachi, when I had the chance to handle an actual sword, always made more sense to me because of my height and build. While I do pick these things up and had fenced before, still didn't change the enormous experience gap, and it's apparently rare to use a longer blade in practice.
