I really really hope the author doesn't ruin arwins character by making him follow barnes 'advice' to go down what's essentially the 'coerce her into marriage and childbirth via sweettalking and romanticized guilt tripping' route and instead makes arwin and noelle just honestly talk out their expectations, prejudices, wishes and fears regarding marriage and familybuilding and then have both decide on what to be the next step in their relationship together. I wouldn't be able to stand seeing both of them secretly unhappy with their marriage life because there's always a bit of doubt left if they themself or their partner actually wants the marriage...
