I really respect and admire the author for accepting the axe with dignity and grace. Far too many try to wrap up their stories superficially in their final chapter. It's refreshing to see that the story literally just gets left as is, abruptly ending in the midst of a chapter.
It is upsetting but at least the story wasn't ruined by rashly wrapping everything up. Combined with the message at the end, leaves that sliver of hope for damhos story to continue.

Fun fact: all the events that take place in this manhwa (and a certain other one for that matter) are pretty much the prequel to what will happen in other mwahua called Reaper of the drifting moon
So yes, the demonic cult will lose this battle but will hide and rebuilt their strenght in other lands before moving back in the murim lands

What a loss! It was a good story despite the art style tat would deter most of the new readers. Despite that, the story was very polished and quite focused on what it wanted to do. It is clearly axed since so many characters had no conclusion in their personal stories and a lot is left for the imagination now. As for Damho, he already did what he wanted to do and the story from his perspective should be over, I hope a sequel comes up to continue the story.

This feels like an axe, this the second manhwa of the author that ends right before the start of the major demonic wars 😭😭 I hope once he’s done with his current he could continue Lee Gwak and Fist Demon or do a remake at least I’m curious about the prequels for Teaper of the Drifting Moon and the wars mane.!
